Winter is the perfect time to finally get to work on improving your ride. All the rest of the year it seems to be a chore since, after all, you after need to ride the beast and not just work on it.

But when winter comes it is hard to justify not taking the time out to improve upon what’s there. Monster715 has taken the time out this winter to improve upon his Harley in a truly extravagant way — he plans to replace the current 96″ motor with a 124″ one instead.

Now, it’s definitely a big jump, but the difference in price really isn’t that much when you compare the 124″ to the 107″. The build is currently in the works courtesy of Kirby at Vee-Twin Racing, and even though the motor itself will run approximately $5,500, it will definitely be worth it. The horsepower gains will be phenomenal.

Several parts have already arrived in order to aid the transfer, including S&S roller rockers, S&S Premium Tappets, the gear drive kit, the Andrews 30T pulley, and more. Monster715 also has a list going for parts that need to be cleaned and powder-coated.

Things are certainly moving along with this build, and it’ll certainly be worth following to the end. Check out monster715’s build thread and show your support!
