On a list of ten motorcycles its editors want to ride this summer, Consumer Reports didn’t name one Harley. Not one.

Since the practicality-obsessed website gave Harley low marks in its first-ever motorcycle reliability study, the omission might not come as a total shock. But the company also gave BMW similar marks, and yet still included the German’s R 1200 GS on the list, beginning it’s description with “Designed and built not just to look like it’s ready for a world tour but to actually embark on one whenever you’re ready…”, but fails to mention it previously concluded the company’s bikes are inclined to leave you stranded on the side of the road. And while there were mentions of domestic competitors–if you can call any manufacturer an actual “competitor” to Harley–Victory and Indian, no American iron made the cut.
