If you’ve ever fallen or crashed your bike you’ll want to take a peek at this motorcycle airbag system from Dainese for the racing circuits or everyday use. Dainese is one of the leading innovative moto safety gear companies in the world. Their vast array of protection from basic leather to their most recent life-saving technology D-Air airbag system is a cut above the competition.

Watching the video below Dainese has gone the extra kilometer in the development of their airbag system for motorcycle riders incorporating electronic sensors for bag detonation. The airbag system consists two major component groupings; one of which is the pneumatic airbag system and the other is the electrical system. The electronics are composed of a batch of sensors like accelerometers, gyroscopes, a GPS unit to detect when to detonate the air bag. As soon as the sensors detect a high siding or low siding fall the airbags will deploy in around 45 milliseconds.

The pneumatic airbag system has two different model lines; one for racing working in unison with the Dainese racing one-piece suit and the other for street use. The dedicated track airbags are geared towards protecting the neck, collarbone and shoulders being that is the major area of concern for GP riders working in tandem with the one-piece suit. The street use model has been developed to protect most of the front torso, back spinal area and neck region.

Keeping the systems ready for action is easy like Sunday morning. Both system are equipped with a lithium-ion battery so charging will be needed but not routinely and some extra gas charges for inflation might be handy too. This is most definitely a system I would consider if I had a more comfortable income. These will be high priced for the first couple years but I can see the price falling as the tech ages. I bet the system will be mastered and common knowledge by that point with enhanced features but for know what an interesting beginning to the world of moto airbags. Which one would you use on your HD? What type of jacket or piece of clothing would you like to build this airbag system into?
