Ford Econoline Harley-Davidson Edition

Factory-built Ford special-edition ride is the retro hauler of your dreams.

When you think of custom conversion vans, you can’t help but think about crazy sci-fi paint jobs and shag carpeting. But not all of these rolling boxes of comfort were built for hippies, you see. Ford and Harley-Davidson actually teamed up to offer a high top Econoline conversion exclusively to Harley dealers. And the results were quite glorious.

This 1988 Ford Econoline Harley-Davidson Edition is very much real, and it’s very much for sale as well. We spotted the converted van in the Hemmings classifieds, where it’s being advertised ahead of the Mecum Indianapolis auction. The event takes place at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from May 16 through the 21.

The H-D Eco is in amazing condition and is believed to have only 55,000 original miles on the clock. It sports the unmistakable black/orange color combination as well as the iconic Harley Davidson logo on each side.

Inside, you’ve got all the amenities you’d expect from the best the ’80s had to offer. Plush charcoal cloth and H-D logos cover the seats. Wooden trim features throughout the cabin and curtains provide some privacy from prying eyes. Plus, you’ve got a CB Radio and what appears to be a five-inch black and white TV for entertainment.

So if you’re a fan of ’80s style and need a custom van to match your Harley habit, be sure and check this one out when it heads across the block next month.

If the 1988 Ford Econoline Harley-Davidson Edition has you feeling nostalgic and you’re looking for the perfect soundtrack for cruising around in this colorful retro relic, here is one of the biggest songs of 1988, and it couldn’t be more appropriate…
