Harley-Davidson Toy Drive

When an Arizona police department requested teddy bears to comfort kids, the local Harley-Davidson dealership answered.

Whenever someone is in need, especially a child, you can bet that a generous group of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts is ready to step up and help out. And when the fine folks at Superstition Harley-Davidson in Apache Junction, Arizona learned that the town’s police department liked to hand out teddy bears to children they came in contact with, they sprung into action. They hooked up with the local American Legion and the Sons of American Legion to host a toy drive. And those efforts resulted in a donation totaling nearly 400 bears.

“Apache Junction Police Department offers these bears to kids that they come in contact with in need of a little comfort,” Superstition H-D’s Brina Brown told the Apache Junction Independent. To raise the cash needed to buy those bears, the group held a raffle with some pretty enticing prizes. Two local residents, Mary Morelos and George Pederson, came away winners with some new swag.

“Mary took home $100 cash and George took home a 55-inch teddy bear. Dressed with, of course, a Superstition Harley-Davidson custom T-shirt. Thank you to all who participated,” Brown said.

Just another shining example of how quick Harley-Davidson enthusiasts are to help out whenever or wherever needed. And we’re sure that the children of Apache Junction will be grateful for these folks’ fine work as well!
