Upon seeing the Lean Mean Green Machine, I immediately thought of the line “Come on you apes! Do you want to live forever?” from cinematic masterpiece Starship Troopers.

Now, the original Green Machine was a pedal-powered big wheel, but this tribute is motivated by a Harley-Davidson V-Twin Evo engine which will propel it to a top speed of 50MPH. The two levers in front of the seat steer the rear wheels, and it’s not hard to imagine using them to pull off some wicked spin outs–just like on the original. The coolest part? It’s not a one-off!   You can buy one!

Of course, it’s also easy to imagine being thrown off. So I have to wonder just who the hell this thing is for. It costs $75,000, doesn’t look street legal and is just… really, really awesome. I’d happily take my chances.

What do you think of the Lean Mean Green Machine? Would you take it for a spin (out)? Head over to the Forum and sound off!
