‘Riding to Remember’ Kicks Off Sept. 10 in Indiana

Riding to Remember

Starting at Hoosier Harley-Davidson, bikers will embark on 72-mile trek in 19th annual charity ride that supports vets and first responders.

One of the best parts about being a part of the H.O.G. community is its sense of brotherhood as well as the group’s altruistic drive to often band together to help out the less fortunate and support deserving causes. On September 10, hundreds of Harley riders and other motorcyclists will hit the road again to take part in the 19th annual Riding to Remember Fallen Police, Firefighters, and Veterans charity ride.

Riding to Remember

The 72-mile journey will see riders converge at Hoosier Harley-Davidson in Elkhart, Indiana (about 160 miles north of Indianapolis), before heading towards Wakarusa, Nappanee, Goshen, Middlebury, and Bristol before eventually returning to Elkhart. According to local news outlet Goshen News, the charity ride is Elkhart County’s largest and most iconic motorcycle ride.

In the past, reports Goshen News, the ride has raised funds for various charities in the city, including non-profits serving veterans, the elderly, and children. But this time, the ride will specifically benefit the Elkhart Disabled Veterans‘ “Vans for Vets” program in the hopes of replacing the vehicles that vets use to get to their hospital appointments.

For riders that are close to Elkhart, registration is open from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with kickstands up set for 2:30 p.m. To get an idea of what the ride will be like, check out Riding to Remember Fallen Police, Firefighters, and Veterans Charity Ride’s Facebook page.
