Shady Businessman Goes to Extremes to Own a Harley

Harley-Davidson

This guy wanted a Harley motorcycle so badly that he was willing to push aside moral and legal concerns — and common sense — to get one.

In some parts of the world, Harley-Davidsons are incredibly expensive. Ever since the motorcycle manufacturer pulled out of Indonesia last February, motorcycles from Harley have been hard to come by anywhere in that area. They’re so rare that an auditor recently went to great lengths to get a hold of one.

According to a report by The Jakarta Post, an auditor from the Supreme Audit Agency has been detained by the Corruption Eradication Commission for, get this, allegedly accepting a Harley-Davidson as a bribe.

The auditor, who’s referred to as “SK” in the article, allegedly received the motorcycle from a toll-operating company as a gift to ignore financial irregularities.

We love Harleys, but it’s sleazy to get one as part of a bribe, and so not worth it.

“The suspected auditor was assigned to audit a company called Jasa Marga and he found irregularities. Then….he asked for a gift. A Harley Davidson bike, to be exact, claims The Jakarta Post.

We love Harleys, but it’s kind of sleazy to get one as part of a bribe, and so not worth it. The auditor’s company has reportedly moved to arrest SK.

So, the moral of the story? An honest day’s work earns an honest day’s pay, because you can’t ride a Harley in jail.
