Bad Bike Accident Didn’t Kill Harley Enthusiast’s Love of Riding

Minnesota woman gets dazzling new Harley with help from Adam Sandoval.

“Life is short. Buy the damn bike.” That phrase is especially poignant in the case of Diane who was involved in a very bad bike accident in September of 2016. After months in the hospital plus surgeries and physical therapy, Tooter has been gearing up to get back to riding. But first she needed a new a bike. And this one needed to be as vibrant as Tooter herself.

In his new video “Another NEW BIKE !!!,” Adam Sandoval (known for his projects Scootin’ America and Mission: Thank You) accompanied Tooter as she picked up her brand new Harley-Davidson Street Glide Special, complete with Milwaukee-Eight 107 V-Twin engine. Tooter, who lives in Minnesota, met up with Sandoval and his girlfriend Ashley — and his canine companion Scooter — at the Paris Harley-Davidson in Texas where Tooter’s new bike with its limited-edition purple paint design awaited. Even though she’s not yet cleared to ride, she couldn’t pass up the chance to purchase this special motorcycle. “I can’t miss out on this purple bike!” she says.

Recalling their phone conversation, Sandoval says, “She called me up. ‘Hey, I really want this special paint job edition bike. Do you know anybody that can make it happen?’ So I reached out to my good friends here at Paris Harley-Davidson. They made it happen.” The bike, with its limited-edition coloring, wasn’t available in very many places. Hence the trip to Texas.

The 2018 Street Glide Special features a cast aluminum 19-inch Talon front wheel and an 18-incher on the back. Stretched saddlebags accentuate the bike’s long and low profile.

Sandoval travels the country with two goals: first, to give back to our community and our veterans; and secondly, to inspire people to live and enjoy the motorcycle culture. And if you’d like to purchase a nifty ASR t-shirt like Tooter sports in the video, head on over to the Adam Sandoval Rides (ASR) online store where you’ll also find hats, stickers, and even dog food dishes for your pooch.

So if you’re wavering on whether to grab life by the cojones and get a new ride, do it — because as Sandoval says in his catchphrase at the end of the video, “Life is short. Buy the damn bike.”
