EVENTS: Motor City’s 2017 Harleyfest Is Taking It Old School
Buckcherry’s Josh Todd and metal stalwarts Quiet Riot to rock June 10-11 event that includes 2017 Sportster 883 Iron giveaway.
Returning to its roots, this year’s Motor City Harleyfest is back and bigger than ever. The free, two-day event on June 10 and 11 will take place at the new Motor City Harley-Davidson dealership in the northwest Detroit suburb of Farmington Hills.
Harleyfest will includes an eclectic mix of exciting motorcycle action, including the Ives Brothers’ wall of death stunt show, “Detroit’s Sexiest Bagger” contest, a biker sound-off competition, and a horsepower shoot-out. There will also be giveaways and a ton of great vendors, plus food and drink. Tickets for the event are now on sale. Musical acts for the weekend include Josh Todd of hit-making L.A. hard rockers Buckcherry (“Lit Up”), Saving Abel (“Addicted”), and enduring heavy metal band Quiet Riot (“Cum on Feel the Noize”), plus ’80s hair tribute group Rockstar.
On June 11 join 101 WRIF “The Riff” as they broadcast live from Harleyfest and send one lucky person home that day with a brand-new 2017 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 Iron from Motor City H-D. To score a key that could unlock the prize Harley, visit 101 WRIF, attend a Harleyfest Key Party, or register on-site at the festival up until 3 p.m. on June 11.
And who wouldn’t want a free Harley? The company says the 2017 Sportster 883 Iron is, “A great leap forward in the dark arts. You’re looking at a pioneer of raw, blacked-out, stripped-down custom style. In the years since its introduction, it has only gotten better. Fine-tuned suspension. Tuck and roll seat. Black cast aluminum wheels with machined highlights. And blacked-out surfaces from fender to fender. You get everything you need. And nothing you don’t.”
