Motorcyclists Band Together to Build Memorial for Parkland Victims
Over 700 bikers rallied together in Florida to raise funds for a memorial park.
The tragic school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, is still at the forefront of American culture and politics. With so many voices crying out for action, it’s easy to forget the faces of the victims, their individual stories, struggles, hopes, and dreams.
Leave it to the motorcycle brotherhood to band together to pay tribute recently to one of the victims of the tragedy. On March 31, nearly 700 riders converged on the home of slain teen Meadow Pollack in Coral Springs, Florida.
The ride started in West Palm Beach at Palm Beach Harley-Davidson, with the aim of raising funds to build a park. Plans for the park include planting 17 trees, one for each victim of the Parkland shooting.
According to ABC Local 10 News, the Chabad of Coral Springs is donating a 15,000 square foot section of land for the memorial park. Between the motorcyclists, the family, and the temple itself, over $150,000 has been raised to pay tribute to Pollack and her classmates.
