Ohio Harley Dealership Celebrates Over 100 Years in Business
With three generations at the helm, it’s been a family affair at Neidengard’s Harley-Davidson.
This year marks Harley-Davidson’s 115th anniversary. That’s an impressive milestone, but the Motor Company’s Milwaukee, Wisconsin headquarters isn’t the only place that deserves a party.
Wintersville, Ohio is a small town just a short drove from Pennsylvania’s western border and over 500 miles east of Milwaukee,. There, like many places, you’ll find a Harley-Davidson dealership, well-stocked with motorcycles new and used, parts, apparel, and accessories.
Neidengard’s Harley-Davidson is not just any other dealership, though. They’ve been selling Harley-Davidson motorcycles in the Ohio Valley for over 100 years.
John Neidengard is the third generation to run the dealership. His grandfather, G.H. Neidengard, bought his first motorcycle back in 1906. The rest, as they say, is history.
“My grandfather did some machine work at a local machine shop before he started selling motorcycles,” says Neidengard. “I’m sure my grandfather would have not had a clue we’d be in business for over 100 years. And I’m sure my father would have been really proud, he loved Harley-Davidson, as do myself.”
Neidengard’s Harley-Davidson is the oldest Harley-Davidson dealership in Ohio, and one of the oldest in the United States.
On behalf of Harley-Davidson corporate, Joe Marcolina presented the Neidengard and his dealership with a beautiful plaque featuring an official stamp of approval. “In any business, 100 years is obviously a big deal,” said Marcolina. “But Harley-Davidson…our dealers are such a key part of our customer experience.”
That loyalty and long-term commitment to excellence extends beyond the Neidengard family. “I have employees that have been with us for over 40 years,” says Neidengard in an interview with WTOV Channel 9.
If you’re in the Ohio Valley and you’re looking for parts, service, or advice for Harley-Davidson motorcycles new or old, there’s only one place to go: Neidengard’s Harley-Davidson.
