Motorcycle Blog Review: 'Bike Bandit'

Powersports Store’s Biker-Lifestyle Blog Loves Harleys

Bike Bandit is the largest online powersports store and the site’s lifestyle blog offers news and reviews, plus 36 great “how-to” videos by Aaron Cortez straight from the Bike Bandit garage.

In a couple of different posts, Cortez discusses Harley-Davidson’s slump a few years back and how the iconic brand was able to successfully rebound. Back in November 2015, Cortez writes, “After another disappointing quarterly report, slumps in domestic and international sales, and now the departure of CMO Mark-Hans Richer, Harley-Davidson is in the news for all the wrong reasons lately. The Motor Company needs to make some changes – but what are they?”

Cortez, your average motorcyle rider whose first bike was H-D’s 2005 Dyna Super Glide, recommended that the company boost their quality and value for the dollar, saying, “Stop selling me the sizzle, Harley, and give me the steak.”

BIKE BANDIT BLOGGER: Harley expert Aaron Cortez prepares to take a test-drive.

Cortez states that Harley really needed to knock it out of the park with the new engine. “It had to be a big leap forward, while retaining the brand’s traditional character,” he writes. “Modern enough to reestablish Harley-Davidson as a producer of well-engineered engines to a whole new generation of customers, but still unmistakably Harley enough to satisfy the faithful. Doing one or the other would have been easy; doing both, however, was no small order.”

‘The new Milwaukee Eight is leading the way forward and will take Harley-Davidson to the next level.’

But now, Harley-Davidson has done just that. Recently in his September 2016 back-to-back reviews of Harley-Davidson’s Milwaukee Eight and Twin Cam Engines on one of their most popular touring models, the Road Glide, Cortez was able to see exactly what the changes felt like firsthand.

Cortez happily reports that Harley-Davidson has accomplished that feat and have delivered the goods. “They are both spectacular machines, and far exceeded my expectations,” he says. “The new Milwaukee Eight is leading the way forward – and it absolutely does not disappoint. The Milwaukee Eight will take Harley-Davidson to the next level.”

Looks like Harley delivered on that steak.
