This weeks rider profile is with Cole Freeman, one of the riders from the Ill Conduct stunt team.  We will be featuring more of Ill Conduct’s team members and videos in the upcoming weeks in rider profiles and our Tuesday Stunts.

WC:  What’s your occupation?

CF: Firefighter and paramedic.

WC: How many years have you been riding motorcycles?

CF: I started riding 10 years ago and stunt riding for the last 7 years.

WC: What inspired you to get started?

CF:My dad (Gary Freeman) has always been my idol and seeing him take off on the Harley and just cruise and go across the country just made me want to start riding.  I got into stunt riding from seeing my buddy Kaz do a spreader wheelie down the highway.  I was hooked from that point on.

What was the hardest trick for you to master?

CF: Tank circles were the toughest to learn.  At the time I started there were maybe a handful of people in the world doing them.  Probably a mental thing at the time.

WC: What keeps you motivated?

CF: I am extremely passionate about his sport and the kids are my biggest motivator.  They look at me like I’m a superhero and in my eyes I can make a positive influence on these kids through my professionalism on and off the bike.  A few positive words go a long way for the young up and coming Harley riders.

WC: Let’s talk about your motorcycle.  What model is it?

CF: It’s a 2009 883 Iron thanks to Harv’s Harley Davidson.

WC: What modifications have you done for stunt riding?

CF:The motor has a 1200 kit  and 60 tooth rear sprocket chain conversion from Zippers Performance.  I installed a 13mm Magura Master cylinder for my hand brake.  D&D 2-1 Bobcat exhaust, dirt bike handle bars, a front end from a Kawasaki 636 paired with Race Tech Gs3 piggy back shocks in the rear.  I run Shinko tires.  Jay Thompson from our team does the 12 o’clock bars and crash protection.

The bikes don’t require many modifications.  Mostly adding some power and changing the gearing to allow for easy wheelies etc.  We have vinyl wrap graphics from Vinyl Images INC.  I prefer a clean understated look with all the bikes similar for that more professional style.  Black and Orange is just HD so it really works.

WC:  What’s a message you have for people?

CF:  We just want to carry on the stunting tradition.  We do it on closed courses and try to pack in more thrills and speed than the other guys.  At Ride of the Century I did a 10 mile wheelie on a HD just to show people that it can be done.
