SEMA Street Glide Bagger: No-budget Build

When money is no object, the results can be pretty stunning. And this Street Glide build is most certainly that!

For most of us, monetary restraints and evil things like budgets typically stand in the way of our dreams. We’re forced to buy a particular bike or limit our builds to a certain degree as cash dictates. But when you run a custom bike shop and need to whip up something special for SEMA, money isn’t the deciding factor anymore. In fact, budgets go out the window, trumped by the fact that you must build something worthy of becoming a spectacle. And this Street Glide bagger is definitely a rolling spectacle.

The big-wheeled show piece was put together by BX Custom Designs out of Gastonia, North Carolina, a shop known for its over-the-top builds. To make something that would stand apart from the massive crowd at SEMA, the crew began with a brand new 2017 Street Glide. They then took the shiny Harley down to a bare frame before throwing the very best combination of parts and fabrication available at it. And the results quite simply speak for themselves.

The Milwaukee-Eight received a massive power boost in the form of a custom Trask turbo, for starters. From there, it’s hard to figure out where to look first. Perhaps the 30-inch Jade wheel or massive 18-inch front rotor? The $15k audio system with a pair of JL Audio 12-inch subs? Or maybe the high-dollar BMW gray paint with handmade silver grommets?

Pretty much every single component on this Street Glide is its own unique work of art, after all. Just look at all the custom Alcantara stitching and custom bodywork, for example. BX claims to have over $100k in the build, minus the cost of the bike. And now they’ve listed it for sale on eBay well below cost. So if you’re the type whose dreams exceed the limits of your bank account, it might just be worth a look!
