The Harley-Davidson and S&S V-Twin crate motors have stood alone for years in a world that sees crate engines for muscle cars readily available. This meant that you could build a custom H-D or V-Twin starting from the engine up. But if you wanted to build or rebuild a sport bike, you had to by the whole bike.
U.S.-based MOTUS Motorcycles is in the process of changing all that, or at least throwing a hat into the ring of customizable crate engines. The company is in the last stages of testing the V4 baby block which will be a 1650cc, liquid cooled, cast aluminum V4 with steel liners. It will also have ride-by-wire intake and electronic throttle control. The engine will cost $10,220.

Considering the amount of noise the MST and MST-R have generated in the past year, this is an exciting development, but will the Baby Block catch on?
What would you put it in?
