‘Urban brawler’ is so badass that it ‘intimidates its way down city streets.’

Harley-Davidson is known for creating motorcycles that exude attitude. And the 2017 Fat Bob is a bike that makes its way down the road with imposing presence. While its looks are enough to draw everyone’s attention, the motorcycle has the performance to back it up. Ultimate Motorcycling got on top of a Fat Bob and found the bike to be a favorite for riders looking to make a statement.

Right away, it’s hard to miss the Fat Boy’s muscular styling. “Make no mistake, Fat Bob is an urban brawler,” says Ultimate Motorcycling. The seating position results in a bike that “intimidates its way down city streets.” And the motorcycle has a potent engine to back up its looks. “The impressive Harley-Davidson High-Output Twin Cam 103 motor propels this latest iteration of the Fat Bob,” says the outlet.

The Fat Bob, as Ultimate Motorcycling says, is a great bike to dart around town with. “The Dunlops are sticky and there’s enough cornering clearance to satisfy city motorcycle riding.” Out on windy roads, the Fat Bob doesn’t fall flat on its face, as the outlet claims canyon riding is “okay,” as the motorcycle’s seating position will ensure that the heels of a rider’s boots will be the first thing to touch the ground.

Other than that, “the handling of the Fat Bob isn’t bad at all,” says Ultimate Motorcycling. The motorcycle may be wide, low, and long, but the bike can still change direction well. “It’s a secure machine on back roads.”

The Fat Bob isn’t without its faults, though. Riders in warm climates will have to look out for the bike’s ride side exhaust heat, which can be unsettling, and the awkward placement of the air filter “that causes your leg to catch the wind,” says Ultimate Motorcycling.

The 2017 Fat Bob may not be significantly different than the previous model, but it still “remains a favorite of motorcyclists who like to make statements, with both power and style.” For something that looks and performs like a muscle car, look no further than to the Fat Bob.
