Big Discount on Custom Harley Build?

Custom Harley

Would you spring $100k on this custom Harley, or would you rather be caught dead than riding it? Our members (hilariously) sound off!

If you’ve ever perused eBay or similar reseller sites, you already know that there isn’t a shortage of big money custom Harley builds. Often, these rides are constructed and sold at a profit, if not built specifically for a customer or show. But in some cases, you can score a pretty hefty discount on some of these rides. And that seemed to be the case with one particular Street Glide that H-D Forums member Labrador posted up in the forums recently.

This has to be the best Black Friday deal ever! Over $30,000.00 off the invested price. Anyone looking for that perfect Christmas gift?”

According to the original listing, the seller claims a total of $130,000 was invested in building this custom Harley. And the original sales price was set at $97,555. Seems like a good deal, no? Well, not according to most HD Forums members, who had some colorful replies for the OP.

User cvaria called it a “flamboyant pirate ship.”

“To each their own I guess, but to me that is 100k worth of fugly,” added Phideux.

“Every pimp’s dream bike,” said nobodyknowsme.

“I wouldn’t empty my cat box on that much less want to own or ride it,” admits TwiZted Biker.

For others, springing 100k on a bike isn’t exactly a “bargain,” no matter how you slice it.

“Says financing available, but not for me,” said Mikerunsjax.

But not everyone agrees. In fact, Mr-Mike believes the bike was built for a purpose, and that it easily achieved the builder’s goal.

“Schmucks, it’s a show bike. It was built to look like that and win shows by taking every rated criterion to the highest most extreme level. Bottom line, it’s freaking impressive.”

Still others echoed our pet peeve regarding high dollar sales ads with horrific grammar.

“I hope they put more attention to detail into the build than they did in their ad,”said UUNetBill. “If you’re gonna ask close to $100K for a bike, take 2 minutes to have someone proof your ad copy. That said, I appreciate the work that went into the bike, but it ain’t for me.”
