William Shatner Still Rides a Harley at 84!
William Shatner is a cultural icon. He is one of the greatest living actors, and is beloved by millions of not only Star Trek fans, but also because of his gracious and generous heart. This year, at 84 years old, Shatner rode with his wife on his Harley through Kansas to Topeka’s Truckhenge attraction in order to help raise awareness and money for the American Legion’s Legacy Scholarship.
The scholarship aims to help cover the college expenses for children of veterans who lost their lives while on duty. Originally, Shatner was supposed to ride down to the rally on a custom trike he helped design, but at the last minute, the steering failed and the ride had to be called off. Being the amazing person he is, he jumped on a Harley and headed down to the site without it.
He stayed at the roadside attraction for hours, just talking with people. Talking about life, about Hollywood, about the scholarship, and about bikes. One bike he saw was another custom trike from one of the organizers. He stopped him dead in his tracks and spoke with him for more than an hour. Shatner is still the man.
