Woodstock Harley Hosts Veterans Memorial Ceremony, Nov. 11
Veterans Day event also features distinguished military guests.
Saturday, November 11 will be an especially poignant Veterans Day at Woodstock Harley-Davidson in Illinois as they host this year’s “Veterans Stand To” memorial dedication ceremony. Being presented by the Illinois Chapter 2 of Rolling Thunder, the Veterans Fair begins at 9 a.m. with an opening ceremony and Veterans Memorial re-dedication.
At 10:30 a.m., Woodstock’s Mayor Dr. Brian Sager will be the guest speaker. Then at 11 a.m., Rolling Thunder will present the POW/MIA Remembrance Table Ceremony to honor all branches of service.
Veteran-related service organizations and vendors will be on hand, too. The event will be also attended by distinguished military guests, local vets, and former World War II POWs. There will be food and live music, plus military vehicles will be on display.
If you can’t make it to the event but want to be part of the Woodstock Harley-Davidson Veterans Memorial to honor our troops and veterans, consider buying a personalized brick for as low as $40 by May 1, 2018. The memorial features a black granite engraved monument at the base of its 80-foot flagpole, which flies a giant American flag. A sea of personalized bricks surround the flag pole.
Rolling Thunder has over 90 chapters throughout the United States. Members include veterans and non-veterans. All are united in the cause to bring full accountability for the Prisoners of War-Missing In Action of all wars.
