To start or not to start, that is the question
December 7, 2014 was the last ride on my new SG. It has been covered in the garage since the snow started to fly. It has Redline in all 3 holes and a battery tender hooked up.
Do you start your bike during the winter or let it sit? . I never used to start my Road King during the layup. Never had a dry seal, or leak on that evo. Whata ya think? |
Let it sit. Unless you can get it hot enough to take care of any condensation in the crankcase, no use in starting it.

I am in the leave it be group. Unless you're going to ride it, just wait until Spring. Or tear it completely apart for those winter mods.

Never start them in the winter, never start them in the summer, and never ever ride them, do you know how much wear that puts on them?
Fill the cyclender up with oil put them in the living room, put a pad down so you can kneel down to worship it, and enjoy it. |
I agree let it sit unless you can do a 30 mile ride or so to burn all the water condensation out of the engine. I've never had a problem so far.
