Checking rear tire pressure on my Streetglide
For something so important, why does Harley make this such a pain in the butt? I have to remove the right saddlebag and use the Harley right angle pressure gauge to slip in under the rotor. TPS should now be standard on all the touring models, not just the Ultra's and CVO's. At least put the 90 degree valve stem on all the touring the bikes to make checking the rear tire pressure easy. Anyone have an easier method?

I lay on the ground and use my right angle gauge, no problems.

Harley Davidson sells a 12 inch zero loss hose extension. Screw the hose on to the valve stem. Check your air pressure, add or vent air as needed. I keep it in my saddle bag and works with any standard air chuck.

I hated it so much I bought a CVO RGU... LOL

It is a PITA.
Last time I bought new tires, I bought these and had them throw them on. https://www.kurveygirl.com/shop/prod...91urrv1dtrnb65 They're a little pricey, but checking and filling tires is a piece of cake now. |

But you still have to struggle with screwing the extension on... And then off when done. That doubles the number of times I would have to contort my hands to get at the valve stem and my hands tend to cramp up. Angled valve stems work for me.

How often do you find your tire pressure low?
In 2 years mine has been low by 6 lbs..and that was only once. I check them but not as often as I should.(guess I got spoiled by them always being ok) |
