How far do I go with cams
 

Looking at doing a set of S&S cams. Indy special but it's just cams, adjustable pushrods, gaskets, seals, oil and tuned.

I am thinking I should do the cam plate, lifters, oil pump and tensioners all from S&S while it is open.

Is this the correct thing to do? If it matters, There is a trask turbo on the stock 103.

Definitely do the lifters and the tensioners; they're cheap, and you're already in there, so might as well.

If you have the coin, I'd replace it all just because - again - you're already in there.

Don't forget replacing the left side bearings for the cams - that's a must!

Anytime I'm in the cam chest for the first time (of an '07-'16 vintage HD), I replace the crappy HD "C" lifters and replace the OEM INA cam bearings with the Torrington (now Koyo-Torrington) cam bearings... I consider those a must do... the other stuff, I usually only replace if there is a reason (excessive wear/broken)

I seriously doubt the tensioners will need replacing on '16 bike.... If they are showing excessive wear , replace them, but they should go well over 50K miles...

The OEM cam plate and oil pump is more than adequate for the twin cam engine... the Fueling and S&S cam plates/pumps sure look pretty, but I don't see the need for street driven engines...
