Ohlins FKS231 front cartridge initial setup...

I have a 23 Street Glide that was in need of suspension! I got the forks built late last eve but can't find a good guide for initial setup... they are hard to change after installed.
I'm at 250 and sort of borderline between the 12NM and 13NM springs, I put in the 13 spring. I can't find preload for this spring and my weight unless it has the lowering spacers in the forks??
I did not use the lowering spacer...
I thought someone might have just gone through this and have some direction?? I couldn't get hold of Ohlins yesterday afternoon so I'm kinda stuck this morning...
Thanks for reading!!

I would use the same preload setting with or without the lowering spacers.

I was thinking the same as well until I saw the difference in the 12nm spring preload from without the spacer to with the spacer, seems 6 less?? To extrapolate back the other way I came up with 12 and went a little light at 11. I am probably as wrong as two left shoes... Lol!!

Fuel Moto popped into an Ohlins shock related thread and posted their suggested settings for the HD 044 shocks. I have these shocks and adjusted to their recommended settings as a start point, and their recommendations were terrific. Try giving them a call and ask what they recommend for your fork cartridges.

Did you buy your cartridges online or a local shop? I'm assuming you bought them online.

From my understanding 1 turn is 1 mm. I put in your weight and it recommends 15mm or 15 turns for 12nm springs. I would assume it would be less. I'm no math guy, but I would go with the table and go 6 turns first or contact them

Thanks Gentlemen!!
Joey from Öhlins contacted me this morning and gave me the information needed… I had guessed at 11mm he suggested 12mm so real close but I’m gonna fix them. Also had both rebound and compression set at 12 clicks out, he suggest 10 out on both for a little more aggressive riding so I’ll set mine at 11 out for now and see how that goes. Mine were really close for a few test miles over the weekend and I am amazed how much better they feel than stock!!! And? I’m thinking they might get better yet!!! Very light, nimble and true feeling… Night and Day difference!!!
Thanks Again!!!
