The hoses are connected to the banjos the same way as they would be without the external breather (venting into the intake). I just pointed them down instead of at each other. I don't see any other way of doing it......

I'm just thinking out loud here. I purchased the parts to do this conversion but did not do it.
Have you heard of water injection ? more power.
A little oil in the top end of cylinder might be beneficial, help to prevent wear.

Might keep the top of piston cleaner but is it really necessary or worth the trouble.
Don't know.

It's worth it, slightly more power, cleaner piston crowns and not that much trouble to install, an hour or less depending on the way you run the lines, and mount the filter.

Forget the H2O injection, just install the kit and enjoy the ride.
You'll notice a slight seat of the pants difference. Your bike will like the fresh air...

It should never "suck" in through the breathers. There are umbrella valves to eliminate back-flow into the heads. The whole system only allows air flow in one direction - Out.

The Filter on the end of the bypass is just to give the misty oil some place to solidify and collect.

Everything else you stated was spot on though.

Sorry, you're right! Thanks for the correction.

As to "more horsepower", I would never install an external breather for "more horsepower". Assuming it increases at all in the short term, I'd strongly suggest any gains would be minimal at best. If you're engine is belching enough oil out of the breather to affect your intake charge that drastically, something else is wrong.

I always thought (like when I put one on mine mack in the day) this was more of a "long ball" move; one that would pay more dividends "down the road" by keeping the intake cleaner over time.

Frankly, as tight as new engines have gotten about blow-by in general, I'm not personally too concerned about the minuscule amount of oil I see getting into the intake. I see plenty of 100k Harleys on here with no EBT's.

As always, YMMV. Your bike, your $$... your call.
