It seems to be the same height. I feel like I look over the top about the same distance. But I can feel the difference in the wind, it totally forces the air higher above my head.
Just ordered my third LRS Ultra. First one was a 8", seemed to work ok, but had a little buffeting, but it cracked and a mounting tab broke off, then bought a 7" but realized after a few rides that it was to short so I just ordered a 9"....hope this one is the one. I don't like the look of the tall shields but at 6'5" I need function over form.
Can I get some advice from those that have one of these on a street glide?
I have a 2014 street glide special. I am 6'4". The stock windshield is bad, wind hits me dead in the middle of my face. Too bad because it looks good. I have a tall boy seat on order. I want to go with the dark tint for looks but am worried that I might end up looking thru the windshield. Opinion please, Should I go with an 8" or 9" ultra elite?

Depends on if you have a long torso. I'm 5'7 and have a 8" and just installed a 7". The 8 was a tad too tall and the top of the shield would bounce in my line of vision, so I went an inch shorter. If you want form, the 8" is about as far as you can go without looking like an Ultra. They start looking huge after that. If you want function, I would say try 10". Good luck! Great shields.
Thanks for the post and the pics. I am 6'-3" and have the '14 FLHTK. I have been looking at the LRS for a while and you all got me off the fence. Just ordered it. Hope it works out. I ordered the 12" By their chart and measurements I should have ordered the 13" but that seemed too high. I went with the medium tint.
Installed the 8" on my SGS this weekend. This shield is great. Took it on the freeway and at 80 no problems. I have a tallboy seat on order and may have been able to get away with a 7" but I am lovin this new shield. Not sure if the 25% still works or not but for my first mod I definitely got my money's worth.
LRS rocks.

I received an email from LRS Saturday saying they have extended the 25% off thru this week when you use the LRSDUST code on your order.
