Honestly, I don't have any problems with the side mount plate holder. I do think the fender mount that was linked is nice, but I kind of like the statement the bike makes with the stock mount - "this bike is bad ***...so bad *** we had to attach the plate mount seperate from the bike.. as in, oh and here is the plate, got to have it included, government thing..but not slapped directly on the bike..." But I do get the 'streamlined'ness of the fender mount, which is def cool too.

Default Oberon adjustable levers

Hey adm,

I recall that you were in touch with Oberon to ascertain if their adjustable Airo lever will fit your Fat Bob,
Did you ever get that info?
Thinking of changing mine but not sure if it will fit?

Thanks

Vlad - I determined that the ones they have now will not fit the 2018 Softails. So i just got a pair of OEM HD black ones instead.

Which is a shame as the Oberon's look nicer, the adjustability is good and the price is excellent.

Hopefully, they will come out with a set for the new bikes in the near future....

Appreciate all the info and it's a pita indeed. I would have love to have a set on my bike.
I did come across this heavily modded Fat Bob last night: https://www.calgaryharleydavidson.ca...r--chd-customs
(Click on Project Fat Bob).

This clearly shows oberon levers but also has hydraulic clutch and other mods.
Still a pretty interesting example of a modded Fat Bob.
Cheers
Vlad

Today's mod was to change out the turn signals.

HeinzBikes LEDs on the front with small position lights built in.

HeinzBikes 3 in 1 "Winglets" on the rear. Run, brake, tail.

Much cleaner all around. The turn signals are now almost invisible until you need them.

The only problem is that my Blackmill Performance centre mount plate holder and LED licence plate frame was meant to be delivered today and I was going to fit that. Sadly, the Winglet turn signals are not compatible with the HD side mount plate holder I had on before. Which means that I am not legal in the UK (you need an illuminated plate).

So a bit of head scratching and I worked out a compromise solution. I put the sissy bar on and just cable tied my plate to it. Still not strictly legal as it's not illuminated, but I will only be riding in daylight hours this weekend so will probably get away with it!

The connectors for the turn signals in the neck are already wired for running lights (Pin 1). So it's just a matter of extending the running light wire from the turn signals, crimping a pin on the end and plugging it in. The connector (turn signal end) is a JAE MX1900 Female.

It's a pity, but the Heinz Bikes signals don't come with wiring long enough to go all the way from the signals to the connectors though - so you still need to "cut and shut" the original wires.

I am in communication with them and will be sending them the correct lengths for the wiring, so hopefully they will offer true "plug and play" versions in the future.....
