2018 Fatboy 114 Exhaust options
#21
I've got Vance and Hines Eliminator 300's in satin chrome on my 115th Anniversary Fat Boy with stage one tuning. They have a deep sound with a nice rumble when I back off the bike. Before the Eliminators, I had the HD Screaming Eagles to eliminate warranty worries. I hated the Harley exhausts and went to Vance and Hines because of my past positive experience with the companies' products. As a bonus, I've put over a thousand miles on the 300's with no discoloration or burned spots on the finish. Moreover, the Eliminator 300's eliminate the catalyst without having to change the stock head pipe.

Hi Ken, I got mine from Revzilla so they must be a hot item that caused them to be out of stock. In my opinion they're worth waiting for, but I'll admit being biased toward Vance and Hines because I've had good luck with their exhausts on a bunch of previous Harleys.

The Beemer cataloged 170+ hp at ~9,000 rpm. Using a torque to hp calculator the 114 is just under 68 hp. Stage 4 adds 100 hp?

I don’t think he meant that the 114 puts more HP than the Beemer ( hope not) however, whatever numbers the calculator gave you can’t be accurate as my previous 80 cu in Yamaha Stryker put out 67 HP stock. No way the 114 puts anywhere around or under 68 HP. It definitely hovers near 100hp.
I came from a VROD stage 1 and while its more than my 114 FB HP wise I definitely feel the kick and get up from the 114 and don’t miss my VROD one bit.

I know he wasn't saying the 114 puts out more power, or even as much power as, the Beemer. But there's a huge discrepancy in the numbers. And, again, the math, according to the HP website, say the 114 is putting out 68 hp stock.

Not according to the HD website. For the Fatboy 114 the engine torque is 119 ft lb at 3,000 rpm. The equation is HP = Torque x RPM ÷ 5252. That comes out to 67.97 hp. It's math. The fatboy, also according to the HD website, is 700 pounds. The BMW is 536 pounds.

Maybe. But the post that precipitated this particular segment of the thread referred to jetsfatboy's <600 pound, 170 hp BMW that was never offered in the US. That's a heck of a bike. And from a performance standpoint, HD never made anything close to that. That Beemer piqued my curiosity. And it performed like that bone stock. Owners didn't have to toss another few thousand to get it there.
