Who has the 2018 Deluxe?

I've got the Heritage but I too found the buffeting to be excessive with the stock shield. I went with the Freedom recurve shield at a taller 21". I'm 6'1" and needed the taller shield. Buffeting greatly reduced. I've got the 114, which isn't really relevant but I noticed an improvement in response and it revs freer following a proper stage 1. A Woods WM8-22x cam update is next. My son and I just got back from a tour up the coast of California and Oregon. 1800 miles. I can tell you these bikes have good bones for touring.

Console
Stopped at the dealer and asked how to get the console off. Turns out what I thought was just a gasket is actually a gasket with 3M adhesive. He pulled it loose for me. So now I can work on designing a custom tank and fender bib...yeah!

I also have a WindVest on my Deluxe and I find it has dramatically cut the buffeting. Mainly because, unlike the HD hardware, the WV allows you to adjust the angle and find the best position for the individual rider. Before putting my WV on, I had the HD shield and the LRS. Neither worked for me. I’m 5’7.

Curious if anyone has had problems with the LED turn signals on the 2018 Deluxe? When following my wife's bike I notice that one or more of the individual LED's will go out when the turn signal is on. Only happens when the bike is moving. When the bike is standing still all of the LED's seem to function properly.

I think you will find it an illusion due to the angle you may be viewing the indicator lens from, there are mouldings in the outer lens and mounts with a small number of LEDs, so from certain angles one may be obscured.
My wife has s a Deluxe too and at first I thought the same thing, that sometimes one LED sometimes was not working, (effecting both sides) can’t get it to do it when you check and firmly believe it is just down to the angle you are looking at the lens from when following!

Thank you for your response to my LED question. Further examination indicates the you are 100% correct. Standing behind the bike with flashers on, making slight head movements up or down or side to side will make one or more LED's appear to go out. Leave it to Harley to create a light lens that blocks the light through some weird refraction process that creates the illusion that lights are off when they are actually on.

I've been a life long BMW guy and I bought a 2018 Deluxe last August (Still have my '70s boxers). I LOVE everything about the bike. It's sort of like a mid-sized RoadKing. I have a fairly short inseam (29") and the bike fits me perfectly. I have the factory windscreen and the quick detachable bags. I did just order a taller wind screen (21") from Freedom Shields (I will have a like new factory 18" shield to put on the market place). Couldn't be happier with the bike. Sorry it took me so long to try one.
