Hmm...dog food = desiccant...you may be on to something there.

Now that my air cleaner has no "floor" the mice will have to move their warehouse elsewhere.

I was surprised to see the mung in the intake considering the bike only had 1,200 miles on the clock and I've probably had it over 4k RPMs once.

OK, one more choice - has anyone done the Screamin’ Eagle Round High-Flow Air Cleaner - Perimeter Bolt? It replaces the back plate, K&N filter, but uses stock cover. Wondering if it sticks out any more than stock?

I don't believe the perimeter Bolt unit fits the '18 Heritage. However, the center bolt unit (29400355) does.

Just looking at the pics and the configuration of the back plate I'm guessing it will protrude a little bit more than the stock unit.

JMHO, but I think the Oval SE unit looks much better.

In eaither case a tune with the H-D SE Pro Street Tunner is required.

Had a chance to get out today and test the new air cleaner out. Even though there isn't a lot more leg room, the little bit is enough. It was very comfortable.

I think it looks right at home on your bike, nice.

Looks like it does give a bit more knee room - and it follows the lines of the tank nicely.

The aftermarket air elements eliminate that air box too.
