Default Anyone swapped out their spark plug wires yet?

I’d like to swap out the spark plug wires on my ‘18 Deluxe with orange SE ones for cosmetic purposes. The instructions that come with the wires say to remove the seat and fuel tank. The service guide doesn’t mention doing either.

I get that it’s prob a little easier to remove the tank and seat, but it also looks like the wires can be routed to the other side of the bike from the coil pretty easily.

Not sure if the same but on my 14 they are tie-wrapped via the Christmas-tree push-ins along the frame. Required removing the tank to cut and replace them.

Yeah, on my ‘17 Slim it was a piece of cake. The M8’s a different animal.

Got some in last week...have not tried to install yet...gonna see if possible without removing tank, looks pretty tight.

I put the red phat wires on my breakout. Matches the seat stitching, looks great. The problem is the two right side ones. Could prolly be done, but I didn't wanna ruin the stock ones by grabbing on just the wire. I just removed the seat, pulled the rear bolts on the tank a propped it up with a rolled up cloth or 2x4. Then it's easy and you can seat the wires nicely. Ya only need a little more room, and this method provided it. No biggie.

Pretty much the exact method I used to change to the orange SE wires on my wife's Breakout. Worked like a champ!

My tank is off right now and there are no zip ties on any of the plug wires, so you should be ok to replace without tank removal. You may need to take out each tank mounting bolt one at a time and shim the tank up to get the boots out though.
