Default Exhaust advise ONE MORE TIME!?

My local has 30% off tomorrow only. I currently have twin slash slippers with stock baffles AND TTIs. It runs great (tuner), sounds good Imo. Dealer has big sale tomorrow only. I absolutely dig the looks of shortshots. Now would be the time to pull the trigger, but I'm concerned they'll be too loud and LOSE performance. Think I'd be happy with them if I got the quiet baffles PLUS re-used the TTIs? Thanx for any and all I'm putting received tonight! Lol....

Short shots look good, sound loud but lose too much get up from the bottom to mid.I would buy a good 2 into 1 you can build into.
Peace.

Mistake. Short Shots make noise with a huge loss in performance. They are inexpensive for a reason.

I'm not a bike mechanic or build engines, but I am a UAW maintenance tech. So I'm not too stupid, lol. FWIW, let me tell ya this. Only trying to correlate the poor performance report with my own experience. I have a 91 FXR I bought new. A couple years later, I installed some pipes called "Samson Sawed off Shorties". Came with no baffles, CRAZY loud. I thought to myself "I can't have this?" So I ordered and installed the baffles for them. I couldn't believe my ears. I swear, they were as quiet as my stock exhaust!!! Really!!?? So I took them out, cut both in half, reinstalled and we're perfect to my liking. No ****. I then rejetted the carb with the recommended jets, hi flow filter and the bike runs like a raped ape. At the time , my co riders had 80"ers and couldn't keep with me. I'm honestly not trying to argue, OR be a smartass, but I'd like somebody to explain to me the diff, with this M8? Thanx, I posted for advice and answers.

They aren't the best performing pipes but the TTI's will help fix that. Other than running the same pipes as a ton of others I think you will be just fine as long as you get those TTI's installed. I don't have personal experience with the pipes but TTI's have been an awesome and inexpensive mod I have used in the past. They will definitely help to regain the performance lost with those pipes.

I hope so. Ya know, I put twin slash slippers on right away because I couldn't even hear the engine bringing the bike home last fall. Sounded good to me, but I felt a loss in oomph. I got baffles in those too. Stock ones. I putting the TTIs in the slippers and it ran GREAT? SOUND AND PERFORMANCE better than stock, as it should be. I'm truely hoping for somewhat similar results with these pipes, quiet baffles, and tti, or close to it. I'm also concerned about the loud. Did alot of net search, most say very little diff between stock baffles and the quiet ones. When ya see the difference in construction, I'd surely think there would be, but..... In the end, if they suck, I'll but it back to what I have now, sell them, and cut my losses. Everybody diff, but I like the looks cuz they reveal the rear of the awesome new softie frame. Lol. I'm 60 yes old, and if I sound tickled over my new Harley, well, it's because I am. Lol

After hearing those Short Shots in person, they sure are loud. The TTI's will deepen the tone a bit so with the quite baffels they probably won't sound so raspy to the ears.

I know the feeling of being tickled over your new bike. I always have a huge smile after riding mine every day. Can't get enough of this bike! Ride safe and enjoy your new pipes. Let us know how you like them after you get a chance to run them a bit.
