Sweet ride!

16*C is just over 60*F if anybody is curious.

Only 37*F (3*C) here in Virginia, and I'm still thinking of going out, but probably on one of my bikes that has a fairing!

MoneyFor 02-17-2019 11:46 AM

I was taking of this morning about 8.00 AM but I went back home since it was only 37*F and waited a hour or 2 so it warms up a bit and this afternoon it was 60*F, nice driving weather.

It's been around 14°C (57°F) here today. Took a ride up to the coast. Loads of other bikes out on the road taking advantage of the good weather. I even managed to ride in my summer gloves on the return journey.

It s a one off, home made product :) , I do not like those big swingarm bags on the Bob since it's for me my " sportbike" , I have enough "choppers" :)

We have are reading glasses on, a bit smaller text would be fine :).

It is indead a pistol case ( make I didn't now ) , I made a metal bracket to mount it on because the case itself is a bit of thin plastik, I added the HD logo to it to make it of.

I am sorry sir.

MoneyFor 02-18-2019 02:56 AM

It's okay, but one can consider the big font as screaming.

Thanks

I figured you made it since I spent the rest of last night searching for it.:icon_bricks:
It looks fantastic.
All there is to choose from is a mid century design tuna can and bulky leather bags the industry thinks you like.
Harley is moving toward a more modern design and unfortunately there are not many storage options to match.

MoneyFor 02-18-2019 03:45 AM

That was my thought to, I wanted to keep it as simple and slick as possible, not bulcky in any way. In my opinion the Bob is no bike to chop or whatever, there are enough other models to do so in my opinion.
For example my Sportsters have a ape on it, my Breakout is lowered with airride, a big tire for looks and she is one of the nicest Harleys I own but is also shit to drive, for me it is just a eyecatcher.

Very nice work with the tool box!

Thanks,

I also want to say that the axle covers are really one of, I have made these completely myself from scratch, they are solid aluminum that I've polished and they are inspired by the derby cover with the bolts

MoneyFor 02-18-2019 04:15 AM

I only have to make one for the big nut right behind the exhaust

Nice work! I can't even get out of my driveway. Even if I could there is too much crap on the roads yet. Probably be another month or more here before any riding.

AJ88V 02-18-2019 08:46 AM

Very clever with that pistol case for a toolbox, MoneyFor. Thanks for posting up the details.

moose545 02-28-2019 08:21 AM

Nice Bob, looks like a nice scenic riding area too. I've always heard the roads in Spain and Portugal are amazing to ride, assuming you go visit and rent a bike. Wonder if that's possible there?

MoneyFor 02-28-2019 08:57 AM

I live on the country side, not in the city so riding is fun here, I do live in Belgium :)

I just made the last axle nut cover ...

Wow, nice match to the brake rotor.

Yes now you say, I looked at them as small derby covers :)

May I ask where/what size clamps are used to hold the bracket to the swing arm?

MoneyFor 05-28-2019 01:27 AM

Yes you may ask but I can't answer,

I made them myself to fit out of flat material and bent them in my workshop, don't remeber the size for now, need to mesuare but that is something you can do yourself on your bike..

:-) I was round your way this last weekend. 20 of us on 16 bikes rode from the UK to Belgium this weekend via Eurotunnel. We went to Ypres and visited the Menin Gate and Sanctuary Wood, then on to Mons and stayed there for two days. Rode out to Naumur on the Saturday and visited the Citadel. Going up the cobblestoned hairpin bends on the access rode in pouring rain wasn't much fun, but everyone made it. Went to Tournai on the Sunday and then back to the tunnel to head home.

Lovely countryside - even if its a bit flat :-) Great beer and food as well. I will return as I would like to explore Ypres a bit more.

MoneyFor 05-28-2019 07:58 AM

Great to hear that you all enjoyed the ride, the only downside was the weather I know, I was in it to :)
