Default Vented my air cleaner to atmosphere. Going back to stock

I vented my 114 Ventilator air cleaner to atmosphere and created a catch can out of a pill bottle. After 5K miles there is almost no oil in the catch can. So I am going to return it to stock. The experiment convinced me it isnt worth the time and effort. I honestly expected to see more oil but the results don't lie. Im guessing 5 to 10 drops in 5K miles. Your results may vary. Just posting this for anyone undecided about it.

I disagree with not venting external,

If a little or even no oil is in that cath can then your oil level is spot on but I can tell you if your bike is maintained by the dealer it will have in 99% of the cases to much oil in. That
oil would go to the intake if not running a external venting.

If you do running a external venting and then check your catch can after such a "overfill" you will find a milky oil substance who have go inside to your intake if not vented external.

So if I understand you correctly,
You've done the external breather already
You didn't get any oil residue in the catch can (yet)
You're going to undo it and go back to stock?
So if it's already done and not hurting anything, Why not leave it?
Asking for a friend.

Well......you're missing a vital point here.
The original set up produces a vacuum sucking air from the internal chamber of the engine. Sucking oil from the inside of the engine
The external breather setup doesn't produce that vacuum, thereby not sucking the oil out of the engine and into the combustion chamber.

So, going back to stock because you dont see any oil in the intake system is the wrong reason to go back!! It's doing exactly what its supposed to do.

Going back to stock will be going back to the oil be sucked out.
Vacuum vs no vacuum!

Because it could void the warranty. And I don't want to give them any excuse to do so. I did it anyway just to see the result.

You must not ride it hard. If you did you would see more oil.

I admit I have never tried to measure it. But the amount of vacuum created in this situation cannot be much. If the hoses went to a vacuum fitting on the throttle body then I would worry about it.

I understand your motive, but my only question is what's your cold oil level look like? What dealer here do you use or local to?

I'm running the DK Customs intake and have stock level recommendations and last hard ride was blowing oil all out the breather bolts that vent externally. I put in the thicker foam filters and haven't have a real good chance to ride yet since winter really, but that should turn around soon. I have an external setup to install, but I've thought about going to a K&N setup and let it recirc, and sell my entire setup now, in theory I should be fine running a little less than normal-stated level oil at cold, and not blow out constantly if I've calculated right

External breathers have nothing to do with catching oil. They're about NOT letting oil *fumes* get forced back into your engine. The EPA forced this to prevent us hordes of motorcycles from destroying the atmosphere *gasp*, and the oil fumes getting sucked back into your engine just decrease efficiency and increase the crap that builds up in your engine. Take a look here: http://www.dkcustomproducts.com//acl...-important.htm
