Default My .02 on this years mods on my 2018 FB

Last year I did the pipes, seat, some trim - discussed it then.. This year heres my .02

* I installed an HD 19 inch detachable windshield - At highway speeds it made a HUGE difference. Install was very easy and IMO well worth the money. I followed the advise provided here about the 15 incher and went with the larger unit
* Docking hardware, sissy bar, pad and rack - Docking hardware was an easy install, I went with the full size sissy bar and it looks great with my Saddlemen Explorer seat, actually 'smalls' the seat down. The rack is a bolt on - easy install and looks great. The back pad - it keeps working its way loose even w/loctite blue. The HD site reviews state this. I have to configure something out.
* Coil Cover - It loos awesome and literally a 2 minute install.

All OEM parts and actually happy with these for a change.

Congrats Unc, always nice when money turns out to be well spent. Pics?

I put a Kury coil cover on last year, and am curious to see what you went with.

Our bikes must still be looking similar, I have the Harley quick detachable sissy bar and luggage rack, behind the Explorer seat also, though I'll only mount it when my wife is behind me. Still not thinking about a windshield though as I rarely ride the slab these days.

Ill get out some pics as soon as I can. The one mod I want to make is I have a laydown plate by the rear axle bolt on the belt side and I want to get bags that use the docking hardware. I dont know if I can..

What is this laydown plate you mentioned?

I'm trying to stay minimalist on my FB so I've gone with a swing arm bag only. First bike I've had in years and years without saddlebags.

If you end up with bags will you have to relocate your turn signals?

Ill get out a pic of the plate holder. Its a lighted unit. The dirt bike crap they put on at the factory had to go. You wont need to move the tail lights..I'm also staying minimalist which is why I got all the detachable stuff. I like riding to the beach which is about 90 mins. Hense all the stuff but just for riding around, its all off. Im selling my Triumph Trophy so the detachables made sense. Its my 1st HD without bags in forever. I've had Touring bikes and Heritages mainly...

Thanks Unc, now the laydown plate makes sense. I had it in my head that it was some sort of a crash bar for the tail end. Your bike's looking very nice!

Default Looks great!

Thank you for sharing! I have a 2018 FB w/ a 107. So far I’ve just added a sissy bar, I have a set of Viking saddle bags but have not installed yet. I’m still trying to decide if I want to do a hard install or pick up the quick release plates that Viking sells. I’m glad I read about the 19inch windshield, I plan on picking one up but was going to go with the 15inch until I visited this forum.

I’m still bouncing around some ideas about the exhaust...any thoughts or suggestions?

How does the Mrs like the Saddlemen seat? Is she tall?
