Accessing the battery on 2018-9 Softail Deluxe

What kind of setup? There's a factory fused charging/power out cable that's attached to the battery and connected in your pic. Do you need more power than 7.5 amps? You can see the terminals under the seat. The red + has a cap. If you need more then the Owner's Manual has a service and replacement section on how to remove the battery.

I have a Heritage. Pretty sure it's the same layout under the seat. I've attached a lug to the positive terminal. It's a little awkward but not too bad. I'm planning to add a another one for jump starting a dead battery.
You don't need to get to the negative terminal. You can use one of the ground posts that you can see on the left side of the image at the beginning of the video.
Those ground posts are identified as a "clean" and "dirty" ground. The clean is for sensor grounds and the dirty is for power grounds. I think I saw this in the service manual. Sorry I don't remember which is which.

You can't get at the starter post or the battery terminals easily on the new Softails to jump them. You need to bring a heavy gauge lead out to connect to. There's a thread going elsewhere on the forum about portable jumper batteries where it's discussed in a video.
