Default Low profile air cleaners?

I've been scouring the internet trying to decide on an air cleaner for my Low Rider. I've always really liked the Ventilator and may still end up going with that but I was curious what other low profile air cleaners are available. Are there any aftermarket options that are similar to the ventilator but maybe a little more performance oriented? I don't love the look of the new Ventilator Extreme or whatever it's called. TIA.

You may already know this, but there is an SE Ventilator with better performance than the stock vanilla version. I have one on my Sport Glide as part of a Stage One update.

In what way is it better?

This K&N has to be the bargain filter out there. Positively huge surface area increase over stock. Small but noticeable improvement in the top end. Nice intake honk to it. Very well made.

Does stick out just a tad more than the stocker - my knee hits it on the Low Rider, but doesn't bother me a bit.

Wasn't aware of that. Do you by chance have a part number?

The Screamin’ Eagle Ventilator is not the same as the standard Ventilator. It has bigger cutouts for more airflow, comes with a rain sock and a reuseable oiled cotton filter (like the K&N.) Harley lists it as a performance upgrade for a number of models. Here’s a link to the one for a Sport Glide.

SE Ventilator

I didn't realize the SE Ventilator was different than the factory 114 Ventilator. Good to know.

Actually the only difference in the stock 114 Ventilator and the SE Ventilator is the K&N style filter (you can purchase the filter on it's own if you like and run it in your oem 114 ventilator)
Backing plate, hardware and cover plate are identical.

That's true. Except stock the cover has that tab along the top. I cut mine off with a jig saw and flipped it upside down. Can't tell it was done and likely helps flow a tiny bit

It’s confusing. There are not only stock and SE Ventilators, but also two SE versions.

If you look at the photos and description at Harley’s online store, you’ll see that in addition to the K&N-style filter, the backing plates are also different and the SE version for the M8 advertises “significant performance increases” over stock.
