? sumping 2019 Softail Slim
Purchased a new 2019 Softail Slim about four weeks ago . Checked the transmission fluid level per the owners manual with bike on Jiffy stand and bike at ambient temperture . The level was at the fill line, not between the two marks . Took about 1.5 oz. to move level to proper level between the two marks . I'am not crying sumping as of now, perhaps it was under filled at the factory ? Will ride another 200-300 miles and check the level again .

So it is the engine oil migrating to the Transmission / Primary chain drive ? or vice versa ? Do not understand ? I checked the transmission fluid same side as the oil fill , the clutch which you are speaking of is on the other side of the bike , I did not pull the Derby cover and check the Primary chain drive fill level . Thanks

There is "sumping" and "fluid transfer". 2 different things. You don't have to worry about fluid transfer with a Softail and for the most part you don't have to worry about sumping with a Softail either. Not
sure there is a single documented case of a Softail sumping. A Harley tech on another site has said when you do a sumping test on a Softail you get drops and not ounces out of the crankcase.

There is "sumping" and "fluid transfer". 2 different things. You don't have to worry about fluid transfer with a Softail and for the most part you don't have to worry about sumping with a Softail either. Not

As the owner of a 2018 Road Glide and swapping out a Sporster to a new Low Rider any day now - I cannot for the life of me figure out why a touring model would sump with the same exact engine as a Softtail that does not; just can't figure it out ... neither can the MoCo based upon how many different oil pumps they keep coming out with. Anyways, I will be riding the RG from NJ to Sturgis the end of next month - hope the bike makes it!!
Back at the OP: you're bike seems fine from where I sit; ride ti and enjoy it safely and in good health!

Definitely some details of the two engine types are different. Another difference between the touring models and the softails is weight. It may be that one factor contributing to sumping is how hard the the engine works during extended high speed runs. Whatever the cause, or causes of the wet sumping, let's hope that the latest oil pump revisions have finally gotten it resolved.
