'18 Slim need a better horn

The horn on my '18 Slim is pathetic. Anyone here replaced theirs with a better one (louder)? If so, can you share what horn you upgraded to and where you mounted it?

I did Harley loud horn, mounted where the pancake was,,,very easy.

This is the Wolo Bad Boy rebadged, I love mine. It’s loud. I’m not impressed Harley wants $50 for the horn they should have put in at the beginning

The site says this horn is standard equipment on 14 and later models equipped with a side horn, so it might not be an advantage for him. My guess is if the OP wants anything louder it's probably going to have to be some kind of air horn.

I did like the horn on my XL1200C. That may be a option. I'll have to think about where I can mount it..

It's MUCH louder than the small horn he has.

They put smaller horns on the 2018 Slims than, say the FL models?

Al the new Softails have little round anemic horns.

I went with a Wolo 270-2T in 360hz, 115db. Its mounted where the OEM horn was. Little bigger and bolder, I like it.

Same problem with my ‘18 Slim. How you succeeded to dismantle stock horn? It was a PITA for me this afternoon.

Take out that bolt in the photos and the small torx 25 screw on each side of it and the stock horn will come out. Remove the assembly and put the bracket back without the horn. Then put on the new bigger horn as shown in the photos.

Understood you’re talking about this bolt (not central one on the back side of the horn)

.
Thank you, sir. Very helpful forum.

That's correct.

I have to agree. The horn on my 19 Deluxe is not going to get any R-E-S-P-E-C-T either. Has anyone attempted to replace with one of the Denalie Sound Bombs (https://denalielectronics.com/collec...oundbomb-horns)? The "mini" (@ 113db) appears to be plug 'n play (but I haven't double checked the voltage, mounting options, etc yet), where the air horns (@ 120db) require a harness but should really get some attention!

Thoughts?

I'll try for HELLA S90 low tone. Reverting with outcome.

Anyone try the Arlen ness horn? Looks nice but $200 seems a bit much

Settled with stock horn + Hella S90 parallel. Couldn’t manage to upload 6sec video with sound (file exceed forum limit)

I have the horn pictured, but I'm hesitant to mount it where you did. Notice how the crash bar is "scooped out" for fender clearance. I'm not sure I should mount the horn out ahead of the crash bar like you did. I'd hate like hell to have the horn hit the front fender when the forks bottom out.

To answer your question, yes, I HAVE bottomed the forks. Such is the state of the roads up here.

I changed the horn of my LRS with the OEM horn that comes with the touring models (sans the horn side cover).

It was really a garage work of 30 min between disassembling the pancake horn and putting the new one....as explained in another comment with the exact procedure, it's taking one out by removing the bolts, putting the horn bracket in place again and then bolting the new horn
