Default Shotgun shocks in the way of transmission drain plug

I was planning on changing the transmission oil and because there is no space separating the shotguns i cannot get to the plug. do i have to remove the shotgun shock to replace the trans oil?

Thanks for using shotgunshock. The trans drain plug is eaisly accessed without removing shock .Remove front two hex bolts and shock will pivot into verticle position.

just wondering,
could you not just use a fluid extractor to suck the tranny fluid out threw the filler cap and save a lot of time?

Thumbs up Dropping front of shock, easier, faster

I ran allens shoulder bolts(look up good hardware house) and put flats on them Flats filed/milled to loosen & tighten and alen to spin out and on.I did this with other shocks, running pan motor and trans on softail, had to adjust primary chain the old way, sliding trans.Custom extras.......,extra time, money etc.Getting shotgunshock on the way on bike real soon.

with my extractor ( 1/4 hard plastic tube) shoved in across the trans gears to the bottom of the opposite side, and with the bike on its side stand, im able to pull out roughly 4-5 table spoons shy of whats suppose to go back in.. im good with that

and being that im using redline shockproof it REALLY doesnt make a difference

Are you taking the tranny top cover off to do this? How do you get a hard plastic tube into the trans and not just in the clutch release cover? I am lucky enough to have a second tranny drain plug thanks to the Baker OD6 installed on one of my bikes, but wonder how to do this with an extractor...

Edit: Never mind, I didn't realize you had a factory 6 speed and the dipstick is in the tranny housing already and not the release cover like the 5 speeds...
