Blackline Shotgun Slammed
(posting this a second time. The first copy disappeared.)
I finally got my Shotgun installed in my Blackline that has ABS.
It was a bit challenging, mainly due to my mechanical incompetence.
Some tips/lessons learned.

- 3/4 " ratcheting wrench is handy.
- You don't need to tap any threads, so you don't need to buy a tap and die kit.
- The old shocks were a bitch to get out, I was probably doing something wrong, but there was so little room I wondered how they got them in. I'm thinking the frame has changed since then.
- With so little room, there was no way the shocks were going to be installed vertically and then rotated horizontally. I had to do it in a different order then the installation guide.
- Install rear bolts. Not enough room to rotate the shock, so make sure the front is in place.
- Install front bolts and compressor mounting bracket. (On ABS bikes, the compressor mounts in front of the shock.)
- Install compressor
- Connect wires and air line.
- Install switch.
- A mirror and a camera helps. The mirror helped me line the compressor bolts up. I've attached a pic that shows where the compressor goes and how it's mounted.
- I couldn't figure out how to get the switch to mount in the ignition switch area. The Blackline has a coil/ignition switch like the Rocker. The shop manual wanted me to use a special Harley tool to take the switch apart. I ended up reworking the bracket and installing the switch behind the left rear strut; I like it better there anyways. Still need to paint part of that bracket so it doesn't show, but I've attached a pic.
- I ran the compressor wire along the right side of the bike.

Looks killer!
Once you mount the rear of the shock to the swingarm boss, you need to jack the rear wheel up which will rotate the swingarm up giving you more room to rotate the front of the shocks up.
This will help when you go to change your tranny fluid, remove the two front bolts, jack the rear wheel a little which will allow the shock body to rotate down without doing it in reverse like you had to when you installed. Great job installing yourself!
