Thumbs up SS now fully understood!

Excellent write-up!

I just purchased a setup of Shotgun Shocks from JD at the 2014 Laughlin River Run for my 2014 Street Glide Special bagger and love the setup. Although I wanted it for the cool factor to be able to lower my bike it was mainly for the rebound control that others, such as Legend's, don't provide.

Been playing with the system for the last week searching for that sweet spot but now that I've ready your "tutorial" I clearly understand how each chamber works and interacts with the other and I found my sweet spot perfectly within 15 minutes of playing around with the SS after your tutorial. Many thanks.

A link to this post should be in the Shotgun instructions.

I am glad I found this. SS is on my list of items to do and I have never really understood how it works. I am still a bit thrown off by raising and lower as, both switches can do this, but it makes more sense now. I guess the big thing to remember, for me, is that the shock is really working backwards from how a shock would work on your car. As I get my head wrapped around that more it makes more sense.

Very well done write up, I have SS on the way, I was pretty confident when I ordered it but after reading this I'm at piece with my decision. It as to be the best one out there specially considering the feed back on service.

Do these shocks have any kind of damping in the system?

All I see is to apposing air springs..

Outstanding, I am sold and will be ordering a set for my 08 bones. I have had lower back surgery about 30 years ago and I am hoping this will help on long rides.
