How Shotgun Shocks Work... a write-up
#31
SS now fully understood!
Excellent write-up!
I just purchased a setup of Shotgun Shocks from JD at the 2014 Laughlin River Run for my 2014 Street Glide Special bagger and love the setup. Although I wanted it for the cool factor to be able to lower my bike it was mainly for the rebound control that others, such as Legend's, don't provide.
Been playing with the system for the last week searching for that sweet spot but now that I've ready your "tutorial" I clearly understand how each chamber works and interacts with the other and I found my sweet spot perfectly within 15 minutes of playing around with the SS after your tutorial. Many thanks.

I am glad I found this. SS is on my list of items to do and I have never really understood how it works. I am still a bit thrown off by raising and lower as, both switches can do this, but it makes more sense now. I guess the big thing to remember, for me, is that the shock is really working backwards from how a shock would work on your car. As I get my head wrapped around that more it makes more sense.
