Any ideas/soluntins for speaker lowers on a twin cooled?
I have a 14 Limited and I'd like to put 6.5s in the lowers. While I realize this can't be plug and play, has anyone attempted to fabricate something that will work? I have a background in competition car audio installs, including fiberglass build outs. I'm wondering if anyone else has tried this or if I'm going to be the guinea pig.
The covers that allow access to the radiators are $16 a piece. They pop in and out. I can use them as a template, cut a hole for the magnet clearance and build out from there. Seems to be plenty of clearance between the pod and the tank. Do any of the experts here foresee any problems with this? My only concern is making the build outs lightweight enough (with speakers in them) to be able to snap back in, allowing access to radiators but also holding onto the fittings if I go over railroad tracks...the last thing I need is a speaker popping out.
Any input is appreciated, even the input that says I'm stupid for trying.
