Sony MEX-70BT

Quick question, using the RCA outs on the in-dash radio into an amp, is there a workaround to get line outputs to work still for standard tweeter bars that still need line out watts from the head unit. Seems the use of RCA's outs on the 70BT head unit shuts off all line outputs in the front and rear channels?

I had no idea this happen when you use the low-level outputs. I will stay tuned and watch for an answer too

looked at the manual, nothing mentioned about RCA connections shutting down internal amp and TBH I cannot imagine. I had Pioneer 80TRS and that one had a menu option to shut down the internal amp. anyway....
try this: disconnect RCA's and see if the speaker outputs work.

I have the same head unit as you and I have the fairing off of mine right now my amp was powering my speakers and my speaker hi line out from the head unit are still hot. I just tried it.

I think more and more are going to go to this setup. Alpine has been doing this for a couple of years now. If you want full output from the RCAs then the option to disable the internal amp of the head unit is there to assist with that.

I didn't think the Sony line-up was doing that though.
