Default Anyone install JL Audio 5x7's in Rushmore lids?

I bought THESE SPEAKERS (Not component but with fixed tweeters) from Gannisius, but they appear to have issues fitting the Rushmore lids,, I'm GOING to make them fit, lol,, but here are my issues.

He's being a big help, but if he's never messed with a Rushmore, I may need other advice!

As you can see in these pictures, I had to break off the end tabs, no big deal, but then when I get them off one speaker, it sets off center because of the inboard forward tab, if that is removed, there is still a grove to hold the speaker there,, also would you use any type of gasket under them? Make one out of gasket material or something? Maybe RTV around the edge to seal it, (Water proof the bag somewhat,,, )

Gonna have to take out the old handy dandy bench grinder Jim. Bench grind those tabs off and they should drop right in. It will be worth it once you get them in there. Trust me!

Will do, They'll break off at the lines, where they're "Scored" so then I'll drill and put screws in the bottom two, top seem to line up. I'll also RTV them for waterproofing and additional securing. Should hear them tomorrow evening! (I need to go to Lowes and buy some stainless screws so they won't rust like the others did.)

Very observant, they come both ways, I obviously have those speakers with fixed tweeters, and cross overs, I found the link quickly and didn't notice the difference.

Got them in, had to break off one of the four tabs, top holes lined up with stock, drilled new ones on the bottom. Used #8-5/8 stainless screws with flat washers to hold it in. sealed with silicone caulk, (White, oops) I'll peel that off and put clear or black on after I buy some,, you can see the white through the grilles way too easily,, looks kinda crappy. You've gotta love Harley for putting 6x8 openings in the Rushmore bikes along withe baskets you can't unscrew. All this to get you to go with a Boom system.

Great job on your install. I saw this post late, but I believe vwtin audio caries a 6x8 to 5x7 adapter. i got my 6x9 adapters for my rushmore from them.
