Help with amp gain/wattage setting
 

Setup is an arc xdi 600.4 BRIDGED. RMS is 300 (bridged) per channel
Speakers are Hertz Millie MLK 165.3 300watt MAX/150watt continuous @4ohm
If my calculations are correct that equals a line out voltage (tested with DMM using a 1k test tone) of 34.64 thus giving me the 300 watt output bridged, per channel/speaker. There's only one gain adjuster for this amp in bridged mode.

Here's what I'm needing, I need to dial the amp gain back to get an output of approx. 200 watts to the speakers. I'm informed that this would be the highest I would want to run the wattage to these speakers.

How do I get it set to 200 watts??
I'm assuming that if a take the 34.64 and divide by 3 (since its based off of 300watts and I'm wanting 200watts , 11.55 is equal to 100watt per the above calculation method 3x11.55=34.64)
Is it safe to say that if I DMM it to 23.1 then that should be 200watts output, correct?

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

There is a free app in the apple App Store called "Ohms Law" and is as simple as it gets.

200 to 220 is probably the edge of the sandbox with those speaks but they will start to distort fast so keep a good ear on them. If ur gonna run that high u might consider running the HPF up just a tad. Really just depends if u want loud or warm or a combo of the two.

I've actually got the amp crossover at 100, you think it should be higher? I'm installing a Audio control dq-61 so I can dial in the sound. I'm tired of not being able to adjust the sound!

Ur crossing the MLK at 100?

No, I don't think higher than about 85 to 90. 80 if ur looking for less loud and more warm.

Every amp is gonna be a bit different but my experience was that the MLK cried uncle and started to show earlier signs of bass distortion than I expected in the low 80s.

If u like loud as hell, I would assume 100+ would scream!!!!

90 with the Hertz tweet crossover at 0 was where I found the sweet spot for my set up and ears.

Not saying I am BUT if I did change the arc amp out for something else, any suggestion on an amp for these MLK's??

Being the 1st one here with those I went all over the board. My advantage was having a xover in my head unit so I could cut more slope and know exact freq cutoff as well as the ability to eq them. At 70hz 18db 250 watts all day long distortion free. Without that advantage 200 per side like I stated. Running that amp bridged you do only have 1 gain. Using the amps xover just bring it down till it distorts a tad then bring it back up.

With the 6channel line out converter and eq I'm able to dial this in better.
I hate not having any type of eq for this system.

yup, I have one pushing my VO 6.5's and B3's

I've always like this amp, ran the 4 channel bridged before also but much easier to fit the 2 channel in the fairing ;)

Yea I wish I would have went the VO's way on this bike but I'm working with what I've got.
Haze's project bike is my 2017 CVO. Probably going to stuff that full of them.
That looks to be a great amp just not sure it's worth the coin to swap the arc 600.4 for it or just work with the arc I've already got installed.

Both amps are a constant power design, so they deliver same power 2 or 4 ohms. The upside to the arc is although it has less warmth per say it has the raw power and sound for the high speeds and also you will have a little headroom with the Arc vs no headroom with the Rockford. Use the eq on that dsp and it will really come alive.

Just got the DSP in today. Should have it done this weekend and will post a video.
