If you want basic simplicity, just buy the new xm ready model and be done. I would spend the extra $100 or so to have the added options rathet than save the $100. This is it if you want to plug it in and be done. Personally I feel they are overpriced, lack features I mentioned previously, and don't really do anything special other than ease of install and waterproof. Buy it and you will surely be happy. I am not your average rider when it comes to audio.

Well it looks like we are at opposite ends of the state, I'm about 50 miles west of Des Moines. I guess if I get in a real bind 2 or 3 hours would'nt be that far for me to go to get good help

Update on the Aquatic Radio.
1. At highway speeds (75) radio was clear as a bell using the thumb drive.
2. Passenger could hear the tunes find. Volume was around 20, 40 being the max.
3. I played with the Bluetooth using the phone gps and streaming music, it worked like a charm. when spoken directions were said the streaming music lowered in sound.
4. The Aquatic radio works better with thumb drive with about 850 mins on it or around 180 songs . or just use a nano or ipod and it works just fine with a lot more music..how much more I have no idea, plus it breaks it up by albums, artist etc..
5. Using a pbr300x2 with J&M Rokkers speakers....Yea yea I know not the best set up, installed 7 years ago they are still working just fine...
6.Cant see the screen very well.
7. Aquatic will also shuffle the songs on the usb and It has a dimmer for the screen also..which I didn't know.
Over all I am very happy with the Aquatic...One reason for buying this unit was HK bit the dust and didn't want to spend 900 bucks.

I got to hear HarleyNC's setup over the New years weekend. The clarity on the unit is GREAT!! I like that you stow your phone away in the thing which is also great. I didn't like the fact that the indexing and sorting of songs doesnt work on the usb when using a flash drive....that bites big time!!! Its obviously using the indexing from the apple products vice its own. I would have loved to grab one if they sorted this out, as my Boom system can do the searching/indexing great and utilizes the hand controls great when searching...but it has its own issues...which is why I would love to swap it out....but Aquatic has a few steps to go to be a viable replacement of a boom system box especially considering price with a single din converter...

I am not sure what features the Harmon Kardon had (i never owned one) but I am assuming that the Aquatic at least mirrors them...and aside from the indexing...I thought it sounded GREAT!!

I'm not sure what you mean by indexing and sorting, on my stock head unit with an MP3 disc all I can do is skip up and down one at a time

I think I am figuring out how to index the usb thumb drive...I have made folders on the USB and the Aquatic unit is reading them..So far just the name of the Albums and songs, not the Artist are coming up..I think the aquatic will sort the artist etc but still working on how its done..Its called user error...lol...I am one those people that will never use indexing on a thumb drive but would love to know how its done...So far having a compilation of music on the thumb drive works for me, which is easy to do.

The aquatic will only go 2 layer on the files with usb. Album then song. Will sort by artist. Here is the kicker. If you have 12 mettallica albums for example, you have to scroll all 12 to get to the next artist. Also once the drive hits around 4gb it will get VERY slow, glitch a little, then continue scrolling. Keep the drive to under 4gb and you will be ok. The worst overall feature is you can not change albums without having to physically touch the unit. Can't from the bars. Only can change songs. One of many reasons for my dislike and VERY fast turnaround of this unit.

Thanks for the input.. It saved me trying to figure out how to make it work...
