Default Sirius XM module question for the guru's

I have a Harmin Kardin Sirius XM module with a paid lifetime subscription which is no longer available or offered. I bought a 17 M8 Limited which has the Boom Audio touch screen system that came stock. I removed the HK module thinking it would work with the Boom Audio system. The HD catalog lists the modules as different. Can the HK module be modified to work with the Boom Audio system? I am by no means an electronics minded guy but it seems that there is only a few wires on the plug and of course the antennea connectons are the same (i think). Will it work and if so what would need to be done?

You can have them move the subscription to a new module, I've done it with the lifetime sub on my Stiletto portable. I think they charge $50 & you can do it twice. If the radio/module is stolen they will waive the fee.... at least they did for me.

The module was on a used bike i purchased. That would not work since i was not the original purchaser.

Anyone purchasing Sirius XM should take a look at this page.
There are some great discounts to be had with a phone call.

Is the module that you removed from a pre-Rushmore?

OP says he took it out of a Harley HK radio. the new Boom radios have a entire different modual. I have had both one in my 12 and new one in my 16.

I wouldn't think an XM/Sirius module from a pre-Rushmore bike would work in a Rushmore bike. The later being Canbus and the former not.

Edit: I looked it up on the HD site, and it verifies my above statement:
Fits '06-'13 Touring models (except '12 FLHXSE and '13 FLTRXSE) equipped with an Advanced Audio Radio. '11 FLHXSE and '12 FLTRXSE models require separate purchase of CVO™ Speaker Expansion Kit P/N 76000275. Requires installation of appropriate Wiring Harness and Antenna Bracket P/N 76456-06 (FLH models) or 76316-06A (FLTR models).
