I'm runnning focal 165krc's, the original series, and mine is the opposite effect. Focals specs , for sealed enclosures, was the closest match vs sq/power handling that I could find in coaxial. It sounds like I've got a subwoofer with the lid closed vs open. Some speakers are designed for smaller sealed areas (even though the pods are ported it's essentially a sealed "box") and some perform better with larger sealed or NOT sealed boxes.
Another one of those items that's important to match to its installation location.

What did you end up doing for more bass?

Nothing yet. I had those speakers on a shelf so I thought I'd throw them in. Now it's gonna cost me money. LOL

I was actually thinking of a hideaway powered subwoofer enclosure and porting the tour pack but drilling the holes in the bottom of the tour pack right behind the seat. Next week I'm installing an arc audio moto720 amp and 4 arc audio moto602hd's with the Sony xav-ax7000.
