I have the Kenwood 998 and the biketronics retro radio. The only thing I had to do after install was turn off the automatic volume control. Just had to push a switch on the handlebars. Everything else worked perfectly.
Going way back in the day I built/installed lots of thumping car systems and Kenwood was always my favorite.
So I am leaning towards the 998.
How long have you had it?
Rode in the rain?
How careful are you when washing the bike?
Have you had to park in the rain since installing it?
Can the display be seen on a sunny day?
Do you ever think maybe you should have bought a different unit? If so what and why?
I've had a Kenwood 798 (two seasons) and now a 998, both had zero issues. I have a road glide and just drilled a hole in my glove box and ran the usb from the back up into it, plug my phone in, throw it in the glove box and stream spotify 100% of the time, works great. Retro Radio lets me skip songs or go back from the handlebars on spotify, so life is good.
